Exciting news for Parent visa applicants and migration agents alike! The Department of Home Affairs has introduced a new functionality allowing paper-based Parent visa applications to be imported into ImmiAccount.
What is changing with Australian Parent visa applications?
From 2 April 2025, applicants who lodged a Parent visa using a paper form can now access their applications online through ImmiAccount. This important change provides more flexibility and easier management of applications during processing.
Key Benefits of the New Paper Import Functionality
- Attach additional documents easily after lodgement
- View correspondence from the Department electronically
- Update personal details directly in ImmiAccount
- Track the status of your visa application in real-time
This functionality is available to all newly lodged paper-based Parent visa applications, and to existing on-hand Parent visa applications (regardless of how old they are).
Important Note
Parent (Subclass 103) visa applications lodged before November 2018 cannot be imported into ImmiAccount.
How It Works – Simple 3-Step Process
- Create or log into your ImmiAccount:
Visit www.homeaffairs.gov.au/immiaccount and create an account or sign in to your existing one. - Import your application:
Use the Application ID from your acknowledgement letter, your Date of Birth, and your Passport (or ImmiCard) number. - Manage your application:
Once imported, you will be able to attach documents, update details, apply for a Bridging Visa (where applicable), and more.
