How to increase your points
If you fall short in your points total, there may be ways for you to increase your points calculation

How do I increase my points for general skilled migration to Australia?
General Skilled Migration (GSM) is a points-based system used by the Australian Government to assess and select skilled workers who wish to migrate to Australia permanently. To increase your points in GSM, you can consider the following strategies:
English language
By improving your English language proficiency, you can increase your points by taking a recognized English language test such as IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE Academic. The higher your score, the more points you will earn.
Academics
If you obtain a higher education degree or qualification you may be eligible to increase your points. A higher education degree or qualification will increase your points, so consider obtaining a postgraduate degree or a relevant trade qualification.
Work experience
The more years of skilled work experience you have, the more points you will earn. Consider gaining additional work experience in your field of expertise.
State sponsorship
You may consider applying for state sponsorship: some states in Australia offer sponsorship programs for skilled migrants. If you are nominated by a state or territory government, you may be eligible for additional points.
Age
Your age at the time of application is also taken into consideration. The younger you are, the more points you will earn.
Partnership
You may be able to claim bonus points for your partner: if your partner meets certain criteria, they may be eligible for points that can be added to your application.
Australian work experience
Completing a Professional Year Program in Australia can also earn you extra points.
It is important to note that the requirements for GSM can change over time, so be sure to check the Australian Government’s website for the most up-to-date information.
